Health check-up in Patong

Most people only see a doctor when something hurts. A health check-up in Patong works the other way round: it looks for the problems that build quietly for years before they announce themselves. High blood pressure, high blood sugar and high cholesterol all cause damage long before you feel anything.

We run check-ups at our clinic on Prachanukroh Road without an appointment, and you leave with your results explained rather than a sheet of numbers.

What a standard check-up covers

  • Blood pressure, pulse, oxygen level, height and weight
  • Full blood count, which picks up anaemia and signs of infection
  • Blood sugar, and HbA1c where diabetes is a concern
  • Cholesterol and lipid profile
  • Liver function
  • Kidney function
  • Urine analysis
  • A doctor’s examination covering heart, chest, abdomen and glands

We can add thyroid function, an ECG heart tracing, or specific screening depending on your age, symptoms and family history.

Who should have one

Adults over 35 benefit from a yearly check even when they feel well. Come sooner if there is diabetes, heart disease or high blood pressure in your family, if you smoke, if you drink more than you would admit to, or if you have gained weight quickly.

Expats in Phuket are a group we see often. Life here can be healthier than home, with more movement and fresh food, or considerably less healthy. A yearly set of bloods tells you honestly which way it has gone.

Check-ups for long stays and work

If you are applying for a work permit, a visa or a new job, you may need a documented medical. We can combine that with a proper check-up so you get both the certificate and the useful information in one visit.

Liver checks after a long stay in Patong

Worth saying plainly. Patong is a party town, and alcohol intake here often runs far above what people manage at home. Liver damage is silent for a long time and reversible in its early stages.

A liver function test is a simple blood test, and if the numbers are raised, that is useful information while it is still easy to act on. No lecture from us, just the facts.

How long it takes

Allow about 45 minutes at the clinic for the examination and samples. Most results come back the same day, and the doctor goes through them with you and prints a copy in English.

Do you need to fast?

Yes for accurate cholesterol and fasting glucose results: no food for 8 to 12 hours beforehand, water only. Morning appointments suit this best. Keep drinking water, since being hydrated makes the blood draw easier.

If you take regular medicine, carry on unless a doctor has told you otherwise, and tell us what you take.

What happens if something is abnormal

Most abnormal results are mild and manageable with changes to diet, alcohol, exercise or a straightforward medicine. The doctor explains what the number means, how serious it is and what to do about it.

Where a result needs specialist input, such as imaging or a cardiology opinion, we arrange the referral and share the results so nothing gets repeated unnecessarily.

Common questions about health check-ups in Patong

How much does a health check-up cost in Patong?

It depends which panel you choose. Message us and we will send the options with prices before you come.

Do I need an appointment?

No, walk in. If you need fasting bloods, come in the morning before eating.

How quickly do I get results?

Most on the same day. A few specialised tests take a day or two.

Can I take the results home to my own doctor?

Yes. Everything is printed in English and we can email it too.

Can you check just one thing?

Yes. If you only want liver function or blood sugar, that is fine and costs less than a full panel.
